Got a letter back!

So....it sounds like we might have some really interesting content to post on TedFlix later (see number 3) I think they might be getting weird out by some of my questions. See number 4.:-D

I was really hoping to keep it in a jar on my desk, like Krang from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) but it sounds like that is not going to happen....now I am sad.

Great!  Thank you for the reply!  I will hold off on sponging my head  :-D

Very exciting about the potential microscope video!  What an opportunity to see inside one's own head!

Thank you,
Ted Manka

Hi Ted,

  1. Redacted   does not require that patients use hibiclens prior to surgery. She just asks that you wash your hair normally with shampoo the night before surgery. She will give your head a good scrub in the OR.
  2. Redacted   is always the one to remove the tumor, no worries. She does have residents with her to assist, but she will be taking out the tumor.
  3. There will be videos from the procedure from the microscope, but I am not sure if we are able to send them to you afterwards. I can check with Redacted   .
  4. All part of the tumor that Redacted removes will go to pathology. Unfortunately, I don’t think pathology gives the tumor back to patients (I have never seen this before). The remaining tumor tissue is usually destroyed or banked as a part of a research study (deidentified) for future treatments. The tumor would not be banked without your consent.

Best,
