Keto is hard...

Ok it has been a while since my last update....lots going on.

  1. Got my Shingles Vaccine, very minimal side effects...need to book the next one.
  2. More than one person have relayed to me about the importance of cutting sugars.  Apparently cancer loves sugar, needs lots of it and it CANNOT use anything else that our normal healthy cells can use.  We can convert fat into energy in the form of Ketones.  Thus a Keto diet....which I found out is REALLY hard to do.  From the talk from the video below I should also try to block Glutamine....but I think the only way (that I know of now) is through a prescription....will keep researching.  Meeting with the Dana Farber Nutritionist in a few weeks to discuss all of this.  I will feel better about all of this once I can get on the inhibitor.
  3. Inhibitor should be coming in the mail tomorrow.  Should be interesting.  But they still want me to go into the city to have an in-person "consent" for me to be on the medication.  Anyway I had my MRI last night ending at ~10:45, then I got home and asleep prob by 11:30 now (6am) I am in an Uber to get into the city for this meeting that REALLY could have been a virtual meeting.  They were also saying the meeting should be about 15 mins :-(   I am actually writing this entry right now in the Uber, this way I don't have to look at the traffic (which I find to be stressful).  Oh and as a comment the lower back /lumbar support on the Rav4 is really bad.

  4. One of my buddies from work is doing the Pan Mass Challenge ride to support Dana Farber cancer research and is using me as a bit of the poster child for his effort this year. http://pmc.org/RT0068 I went to a dinner 2 nights ago to take pictures with people and they were charged $100 per picture with me that would go to his ride.....the people didn't know they would be charged $100 so that is pretty funny.  Yesterday
  5. Someone from my work on a work call(who didn't know what was going on) said that it looked like I had lost weight and wanted to know if he could get on my weight loss program....I told him I would tell him later.
  6. Last night I verified that I was actually in Ketosis....TBH if I didn't have the motivation that I have now, I am not sure if I would have ever made it into Ketosis....

So next steps....
  1. Get through the "consent" meeting and get back home
  2. Get inhibitor today hopefully....then see how the side effects are.  I am expecting fatigue (let's see how much and if my super low tolerance of caffeine can combat it or not)

This is all "Very Exciting"! 🤣
