Preparation

There has been so much to get ready for....I find myself at about t-mins ~30 or so hours to go and I still have a lot of work to do but also a lot has been completed.

Work

Huge thanks to all the people at work...almost too many to thank.  It has been such an emotional roller coaster preparing everything for being out for so long. Customers, my team, communications, daily, weekly, monthly activities that need to be accounted for....it is a lot.  The great thing is the people that have stepped up BIG TIME:

People filling in for me:

Molly is always going an amazing job going above and beyond while and crushing it
Eduardo for stepping up last minute to fill in for escalations and other managerial tasks
Richard for willing to take on PS duties in addition to he CSE workload and provide the history and tribal knowledge on how to solve problems or the right person to do to in order to get the job done
And John to be the anchor and be the backstop for everything else

HR

Teela and Julie for guiding me through the HR paperwork that needed to be done

Management

Huge thanks to John and Matt for being so flexible and helping me out during this time.

Well wishes

The sheer number of people from my second family (work) has been overwhelming.  I can't thank people enough for being kind and expressing their desire to help and showing empathy...I realize how luck I am to be with the people that i am at work.

Health

So I have been doing a lot of working out....partially b/c I know my activities will be very limited post-op but also to help with sleeping which continues to be a struggle....which reminds me I need to get a hold of my PCP so we can strategize how we can ween myself off of the ambien...I have to imagine sleep will be very chaotic over the next week, from emotion and nerves to recovery from surgery.
